Hyderabad: A woman lodged a complaint with the Chilkalguda police stating she was assaulted in public while on her way to see the Bonalu procession here on Monday.
The woman said she and her husband had come to see the Chilkalguda Bonalu jatara. When they reached Chilkalguda GHMC ground in a DCM van with offerings to present to the deity, they saw a group of four persons drinking alcohol.
She requested them to move a little, which provoked the men, who beat her and her husband. She lost her 2.5 tola gold mangalsutra during the assault, she alleged.
