Internet, Oct. 25: Elon Musk has announced a proposed feature that would let users send $1 to another user by long-pressing the Like button on X.
Musk announced the plan on Sunday through a post on the social media platform. The feature would use X Money to let users tip content creators and support posts they appreciate without leaving the app.
“We’re adding long press on like to send someone $1 via X Money,” Musk wrote.
The proposed feature forms part of Musk’s wider plan to turn X, formerly Twitter, into an all-in-one platform. His vision combines social networking, messaging and financial services within a single app.
X Money Payment Feature: What Users Should Know
Under the proposed system, users could send $1 to a post’s author by pressing and holding the Like button. The payment would be processed through X Money.

However, X has not announced a confirmed rollout date for the feature. Details about eligibility, transaction conditions and wider availability also remain unclear.
X Money has begun operating in the United States, offering peer-to-peer money transfers and an X-branded Visa debit card. The card supports eligible online and in-store transactions and can be linked to Apple Pay where supported. Access to individual services depends on eligibility requirements.
The payment service is a key part of Musk’s ambition to expand X beyond social media. The proposed Like-button feature could make small payments easier for users and create another way to support creators.

For now, X Money remains focused on the US market. The company has not announced when the payment service or the new tipping feature will become available in India.
India has a large digital payments market, but users should not assume the feature will support Indian accounts or rupee payments until X confirms its plans.
