Yadadri Brahmotsavams: Fire Installation and Flag Hoisting Mark Day 2
Yadagirigutta/Hyderabad, March 2 (Maxim News): The second day of the Brahmotsavams at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Yadagirigutta is underway today. The day began with Agni Pratistha (Fire Installation) and Dwajarohanam (Flag Hoisting) ceremonies. Later in the evening, priests will perform Bheri Puja, Devtahavana, Havanam, and other rituals.
As Sunday is a holiday, devotees have gathered in large numbers, standing in long queues for the darshan of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy.
Brahmotsavams Begin with Grandeur
The Brahmotsavams officially began on Saturday with the Swastivachanam and Ankur Aropanam ceremonies. This year’s celebrations are extra special with the installation of the golden Vimana Gopuram at the main temple, adding to the splendor of the festival.
Schedule of Key Events
The Brahmotsavams will continue with a series of religious rituals and celebrations:
- March 3-6: Flag hoisting, deity calling, Vedic recitations, Havana, and decorative services.
- March 7: Grand procession.
- March 8: Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Thiru Kalyanotsavam (Celestial Wedding).
- March 9: Divya Vimana Rathotsavam (Chariot Festival).
- March 10: Sri Pushpayagam, Devatodvasana, and Dopu Utsavam.
- March 11: Shataghatabhishekam, Sringaradolotsavam, and the closing ceremony.
Temple Beautification and Government Participation
In honor of the Brahmotsavams, the main temple, halls, entrances, and gopuram have been decorated with vibrant flower garlands, banana and mango leaf arches, and dazzling electric lights.
On March 8, Endowments Minister Konda Surekha will visit the temple on behalf of the government and offer silk clothes and pearl Thalambras to the deities.
Temple EO Bhaskara Rao stated that elaborate arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the Brahmotsavam. Additionally, a proposal has been sent to the government to allow free vehicle access to the hill during the festival.
