Hyderabad: Telangana Youth Congress State General Secretary Almas Khan on Thursday strongly condemned the police action against students protesting at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi, alleging that the government’s response to demands for justice reflected an unwillingness to face accountability.
Reacting to the alleged crackdown on students protesting over the NEET paper leak issue, Almas Khan said the government had chosen force instead of addressing the concerns raised by young people.

He alleged that whenever students questioned the government, they were met with repression, and opposition leaders supporting the protest were also subjected to detention.
Almas Khan further claimed that he was assaulted and detained by police during a peaceful protest outside the BJP office in Hyderabad.
“Students may be silenced temporarily, but their questions cannot be detained. The louder the state tries to suppress the voice of the youth, the louder #ChhatronKiGoonj will become,” he said.
He asserted that the Youth Congress would continue to oppose what he described as attempts to suppress democratic voices.
“Every blow inflicted by the Modi Government’s police will be remembered. Every act of repression will be recorded in the Red Book of the people. The Youth Congress will maintain the account, and the time will come when every injustice will be answered democratically. Hisaab Barabar Hoga under the leadership of Rahul Gandhi,” Almas Khan said.
The Youth Congress leader also demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, holding him accountable over the examination controversy, and said the people would continue to question those in power.
