Delhi/Hyderabad, Feb 6 (Maxim News): Customs officials at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport have seized 10 kg of smuggled gold from two passengers who arrived from Milan, Italy. The gold is valued at over ₹7.9 crore.
Acting on a tip-off, officials kept a close watch on the passengers. Although their baggage scan showed nothing suspicious, their behavior seemed odd. A personal check revealed specially designed belts under their clothes, carrying hundreds of gold coins—5 kg each.
Since the passengers had no legal documents for the gold, officials confirmed it was being smuggled illegally. The two accused, both from Kashmir, have been taken into custody for further questioning.
Delhi Customs has also shared photos of the seized gold on their Ex (formerly Twitter) account. Investigations are ongoing. (Maxim News)
