137 Polling Booths For MLC Elections

Hyderabad, Mar 3 (Maxim News): The Hyderabad District Election Authority officials said that 137 polling centers have been prepared for the proper conduct of MLC elections in Hyderabad-Ranga Reddy-Mahabubnagar Teachers Constituency. Polling will be held on March 13 and the counting of votes will be held on March 16.

Ahead of the elections for the MLC seats of the teachers’ category in Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Mahboobnagar districts in Telangana, the teachers’ organizations have complained about the wide exclusion of names from the list of voters.

Elaborate arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the Hyderabad-Rangareddy-Mahbubnagar teachers constituency MLC elections.

Flying Squads A static surveillance team for checking violations of the Model Code of Conduct

The Election Authority official said that 12 flying squads have been appointed. It was explained that a total of 27,720 teachers were registered as voters for the constituency elections. 12 flying squad teams have been formed and each team consists of a GHMC official, police personnel, and a videographer.

In addition to the above, a static surveillance team (comprising a state government official along with three or four police personnel) for checking violations of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and complaints related to it will be deployed at checkposts and at strategic locations.

The team will report to the director of GHMC’s Enforcement Vigilance & Disaster Management (EV&DM) who is the nodal officer for MCC.

“There will be three or more flying squads in each assembly segment,” said an official from Hyderabad District Election Authority.

A total of 29,720 people (15,472 male and 14,246 female) have registered themselves as electors for the MLC Teachers’ Constituency elections in eight districts.

A total of 137 polling stations will be set up and the final electoral rolls along with the supplements have already been supplied to all the recognized political parties. (Maxim News)
