Hyderabad, July 19: A 17 year old boy was allegedly beaten to death by unidentified persons at Shah Tekri in the Kalapather area of Hyderabad’s Old City late on Saturday night. Police have launched an investigation to identify the attackers and establish the motive behind the crime.
The victim, identified as Mohammed Faiz, also known as Azaan, was a resident of Kalapather and lived with his family.
According to the preliminary investigation, Faiz received a phone call shortly after midnight and left his house to meet a group of persons at Shah Tekri.
Police said he was allegedly assaulted with sticks, suffering severe head injuries. He died at the scene before help could arrive.
After receiving information, the Kalapather police reached the spot, shifted the body to Osmania General Hospital for post mortem examination, and registered a case.
The motive behind the murder is yet to be established. Police are examining CCTV footage from the area, collecting evidence, and making efforts to identify and trace the suspects. Further investigation is underway. (Maxim News)
