26-Year-Old Indian Worker at LuLu Hypermarket Dies of Heart Attack
Doha: A young Indian expatriate, Arshad, 26, tragically passed away after suffering a heart attack in Doha, Qatar. Arshad, a native of Alathur in Kerala’s Palakkad district, worked as a driver at the LuLu Hypermarket’s Al Messila branch.
His sudden death has left his family and the local community in shock. Arshad is survived by his parents, Ismail and Asmabi, who are awaiting the return of his body to India.
According to reports, Arshad was rushed to Hamad Hospital after falling seriously ill but, despite medical efforts, he passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, April 29. His body remains at the hospital morgue, and repatriation procedures are underway.

Expressing condolences, a spokesperson from LuLu Hypermarket said, “Arshad was a dedicated and hardworking employee, and we are deeply saddened by his untimely passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.”
Leaders from the Indian community in Qatar also voiced their sorrow. Mohammed Iqbal, a representative of a Kerala-based expat association, remarked, “This is a heartbreaking loss for our community. We are working closely with the authorities to ensure all support is extended to Arshad’s family.”
This tragedy comes just months after a similar incident in December 2024, when 42-year-old Mohammed Shibili Palangol, an Indian national and manager at Qatar’s Tea Time Group café chain, also died of a heart attack in Doha.
The back-to-back incidents have sparked conversations within the expatriate community about health awareness and workplace support systems.
