2K Run Organised With Slogan ‘I Vote For Sure’

Hyderabad, April 10 (Maxim News): A 2K run organized with the slogan ‘I Vote for Sure‘ from Serilingampally Zone Kondapur Botanical Gardens to Hitex Road Metal Charminar on Wednesday morning as part of a sweeping program to create awareness among the people about the importance of voting rights, was carried out enthusiastically. People from different communities voluntarily participated in the 2K run and showed the maturity of democracy. Officers, Employees, Senior Citizens, Transgenders, Youth, disabled people, Walkers Associations, Cyclist Associations, Police, Students and Students have successfully participated in the 2K Run on a large scale.

There is no weapon greater than the vote, and every voter should exercise his right to vote, said State Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj.

State Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj inaugurated the 2K run which started from Kondapur Botanical Gardens. They started by waving the flag. People from different communities participated in the run displaying placards with slogans like I vote for sure and vote for a bright country.

Speaking on this occasion Vikas Raj said advised to take advantage of the most important right to vote in a democratic system and cast free and ethical voting. He said there are 3.30 crore voters in the state and if the voters do not exercise their right to vote in the elections, the vote will be wasted. A person should have only one vote anywhere in the country. Everyone who has reached the age of eighteen must register their name in the voter list and youths are urged to utilize the opportunity provided by the Election Commission to register new voters. They want to strengthen democracy by using their vote without succumbing to any temptation.

He said that the election code of conduct is in force throughout the state and actions are being taken against the violations of the election code of conduct with field investigation. He said that as responsible citizens, they should complain about the violations of the election code of conduct by downloading the “C” Whistle app on their mobile phones and complain about the violations of the election code. He said that the complaint would be investigated within 100 minutes and action would be taken. Everyone who participated in the 2K Run wanted to sensitize their family and neighbors to take advantage of their right to vote.

Hyderabad District Election Officer, GHMC Commissioner Ronald Rose said that the power of the ballot is greater than the bullet and the vote we cast determines our future.

He expressed concern that although Hyderabad city is ahead of all, the percentage of voting is not more than 50 percent. He said that despite being in an urban area, all of them are educated, but they show disinterest in voting. They should check whether their name is present on the voter list, if not then apply in Form-6 by the 15th of this month.

Rangareddy District Collector Sashanka said that Sherlingampally is a big constituency, with more than seven lakh voters, it proves that we are ahead not only in income and education but also in social responsibility.  All kinds of facilities are being provided in the polling centers. Voters are advised to download the voter helpline app and check their details on the voter service portal. Everyone who has the right to vote should be educated about voting at home, in offices, with relatives, and with friends and urged to make everyone aware of voting. Afterwards Voter pledge. Mementos were given to the top 5 runners in the 2K run.
