Hyderabad, February 1: Adulteration: The Hyderabad Task Force on Monday arrested three persons on charges of preparing adulterated tea powder at Gowliguda in Afzalgunj and seized adulterated tea powder worth Rs 1.40 lakh and other material.
The arrested persons are Mahendra Singh Rajput, Tan Singh and Om Singh, residents of Gowliguda and Shahinayathgunj.
Police said Mahendra Singh Rajput plotted to make easy money by selling adulterated tea powder and sought the help of his friends Tan Singh and Om Singh, both auto-trolley drivers.
“He purchased spurious tea powder sachets for a lower rate from dealers in Rajasthan and transported it to Hyderabad in trollies and sold at higher rate here,” police said.

The accused Mahendra Singh Rajaputh used to purchasing Duplicate/spurious Tea powder sachets for Rs.4.50/- each from main agent Surender of Rajasthan State and transporting through private transports from Rajasthan to Hyderabad and dumping at the above said godown and selling each sachets for Rs. 9/- to customer in cheating manner by saying to the customers that the material is genuine company material by violating the Copy Right infringements/violation of products and causing huge loss to genuine company and gain easy profits illegally.
Today the accused persons are illegally procured and transporting, selling the spurious tea powder packets on the popular name of Red label on credible information conducted raid at H.No. 15-5-206, Osmanshahi, Gowliguda, Afzalgunj PS and apprehended accused persons red handedly and seized above material .
The accused person along with seized property handed over to SHO, Afzalgunj PS for further investigation.
