5.3 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Tibet, Tremors Felt In Nepal

Hyderabad, Sept. 9: A 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck Tibet on Wednesday, with tremors also felt across parts of neighbouring Nepal.

The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) recorded the earthquake at a depth of 35 kilometres.

Meanwhile, India’s National Centre for Seismology (NCS) recorded the earthquake at a magnitude of 5.0.

The tremors caused panic in several parts of Nepal. Some residents reportedly rushed out of their homes after feeling the shaking.

Earthquake in Tibet Triggers Tremors in Nepal

Officials have not yet released details about any deaths or property damage caused by the earthquake.

The latest earthquake comes days after another tremor struck Tibet last Thursday.

According to the US Geological Survey, that earlier earthquake measured 5.1 in magnitude. Its epicentre was located at a depth of 10 kilometres.
