5 Day Online FDP Inaugurated at GITAM

Hyderabad, June 23 (Maxim News): Five-day online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on ‘Life Sciences for Engineers’ was inaugurated at GITAM Deemed-to-be University, here on Wednesday. This program was jointly organized by Department of Chemistry, GITAM School of Science Hyderabad and Bengaluru. It was planned to train the faculty members to the present requirement and to understand biological concepts. So that they can effectively interact with the basic principles of engineering for providing solutions to the problems related to bio- systems.

Prof. N.Siva Prasad, Pro Vice-Chancellor, GITAM, Hyderabad was the Chief Guest at the inaugural ceremony. In his address, he expressed that teachers are the role models for the nation and this profession is the most satisfied one as one gets ample opportunities to give back to the society.

Prof. G.A.Rama Rao, Principal, School of Science in his opening remarks said that modern society demands high quality teaching and learning from teachers.

Dr. Rambabu Gundla, HoD, Department of Chemistry appreciated the efforts of management in providing the opportunity to organize such events.

Dr. Naresh Kumar Katari, Convener in his vote of thanks exclaimed that Teacher’s learning is a continuous process that promote teachers’ teaching skills, master new knowledge, develop new proficiency, which in turn, help improve students’ learning.

The inauguration was followed by a talk on ‘Recombinant DNA Technology; outlines, transgenic microbes, plants, animals’ by Dr. Ch.Surekha, HoD, Biochemistry, GITAM, Vizag. Participants from different universities and colleges are AU College of Pharmacuetical Sciences, Andhra University, S.V. University, Tirupati etc. The FDP will be continued till June 27.
