70th Defence Accounts Department Annual Day Celebrations

Secunderabad, 5 Oct (Maxim News): The 70th Defence Accounts Department (D.A.D) Annual Day was celebrated by the Controller of Defence Accounts (CDA) Secunderabad at MCEME Auditorium, Secunderabad.

The function was attended by Lieutenant General TSA Narayanan, Commandant, MCEME, Shri Y Raja Reddy, IDAS, CDA (IT&SDC) Secunderabad, Shri K Venkata Rao, IDAS, CDA Secunderabad, Smt K Sangeeta, IDAS, JCDA, in-charge of PAO (ORs) EME, Smt S Vatsala, IDAS, Assistant Controller, Smt G Dhanalaxmi, IDAS, ACDA, in-charge of PAO (ORs) AOC and all officers and staff of D.A.D fraternity in large number.

The Chief Guest, Lt Gen TSA Narayanan, while speaking on the event has dwelled upon the metamorphosis undergone by the Department over the two and half centuries in emergence as one of the premier Departments of Government of India. He applauded the commitment of Controller of Defence Accounts (CDA) Secunderabad and congratulated all officers and Staff for keeping up high standards of professionalism and promptness in resolving the issues faced by the soldiers. He particularly appreciated the excellent support provided by officers and staff during the prevalence of COVID-19 pandemic.

K Venkata Rao, Controller, CDA Secunderabad in his address, mentioned the path breaking activities and IT initiatives undertaken by the Department in core areas its functioning particularly recent implementation of “System for Pension Administration Raksha (SPARSH)” in the best interests of Defence Pensioners including defence civilians, direct bank transfer of salaries & allowances to defence civilians, Implementation of SBI Cash Management Product in MES at Secunderabad and also urged the DAD fraternity to keep on updating themselves to meet the expectations of Services.

On the occasion, Appreciation Awards were given to officers and staff for their commendable work in the fields of Audit, Accounts, IFA services, Local Audit services and Pension. As a token of recognition of rendition of distinguished service, certifications & mementos were presented to 10 Officers and Staff who completed 30 years of service. The meritorious children of DAD employees who have achieved excellence in academics were felicitated by the CDA Secunderabad. As a part of celebrations, prizes were distributed to the winners of various sports events conducted on the occasion. The celebrations concluded with cultural activities performed by some of the talented employees.
