78th Independence Day Celebrations At GHMC Headquarters

Hyderabad, August 15: Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi hoisted the national flag along with Commissioner Amrapali Kata and Deputy Mayor Mothe Srilatha Shobhan Reddy at GHMC headquarters on Thursday on the occasion of 78th Independence Day. On this occasion, the Mayor and Commissioner received a police salute.

Mayor Addresses The Gathering On 78th Independence Day Celebrations At GHMC Headquarters

Speaking on this occasion, the Mayor paid tribute to the martyrs who fought for the freedom of the Indian nation and gave their lives in the freedom movement. He said that the Telangana state was achieved with the spirit of Indian nationalism and peaceful struggle.

She said that the state government is working to provide the fruits of Telangana to all deserving people towards fulfilling the aspirations of the people and the aspirations of the immortals. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, to make Subiksha a state, steps are being taken towards providing welfare fruits to the people of all walks of life with public governance.

He said that the state government is fulfilling the promises given to the people of Telangana and taking steps towards public governance and the government is working towards creating employment for the unemployed youth. He said that recently job calendar has been released to fulfill the expectations of employees. He said that he is happy to say that the state government has allocated Rs.1100 crore funds within a month of taking over the government to financially support the GHMC, and similarly, Rs.3,065 crore has been allocated to Baldia in the state budget. On this occasion, on behalf of all of us, we thanked the Chief Minister for allocating a large amount of funds to Baldia.

Mayor Explained The Various Development Programs

Cleanliness – Greenness: The Greater Cleanliness – Greenness program was organized from the 5th to the 9th of August. More than ever before, we have considered five points in this program and carried out each point one day and completed it successfully with the coordination of people, public representatives, and officials. Sanitation on the first day, mosquito extermination on the second day, pond conservation on the third day, canal cleaning on the fourth day, and the Vanamahotsava program on the 5th day were successful.

Monsoon Emergency Teams: These teams work to remove standing water at water logging points on the road from time to time without causing any inconvenience to the people due to rains. This year, 238 static and 154 monsoon emergency teams have been formed and we are removing standing water immediately to prevent traffic problems. We have identified 141 water logging points in Greater and taken strict measures to prevent accidents. Besides setting up emergency teams, we have set up control rooms in the head office, zonal, and circle offices to assist people in low-lying areas in case of flood. I would like to inform you that we are working hard to create confidence that the authorities and public representatives are always vigilant to save people from danger.

De-silting: Pre-monsoon, post-monsoon as well as desilting of canals during monsoon is a continuous process. Greater Lo Stormwater canals are 1302 kms in total, of which 390 kms are main canals. It has been decided to take up 201 works at a cost of Rs.56.38 crores and excavate a length of 919 kilometers this financial year. So far we have completed 89 percent of the excavation.

Water Holding Structure: GHMC has decided to take up structures at water holding for a permanent solution to avoid water stagnation in the context of water logging at water logging points during heavy rains. As a part of that, it is proposed to undertake 50 structures at an estimated cost of 100 crore rupees across the Greater. We have constructed 23 water-holding structures with a capacity of 1 lakh liters to 10.4 lakh liters in 18 locations.

Pot Holes: Repairs of potholes on the main and internal roads due to the rains in the city have been undertaken. The potholes were filled with BT, cement and gravel so that the people did not suffer.

Nala Development: As part of the development of canals for flood prevention in GHMC, the state government has proposed to undertake 35 works at a cost of Rs.582.42 crore through the Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure program. Tenders were called for 35 such works. Out of 37 nala works undertaken earlier under SNDP, 30 works have been completed. The remaining 7 works are in the development stage.

Indira Mahila Shakti: The government has launched the Indira Mahila Shakti Scheme to make women millionaires in the next five years. We are working hard to implement the scheme by creating awareness among the women of self-help societies to set up group enterprises and individual enterprises under the Mahila Shakti scheme. In 30 circles across Greater Rs. It is proposed to set up micro-enterprises with 7 thousand crores. We will set up micro-enterprises for 1000 groups with 20 lakh rupees for each group and spend a total of 200 crore rupees. We are taking steps to set up personal enterprises for 6 thousand people with financial assistance of Rs.3.50 lakh per year and Rs.210 crore per year.


H-City:
The state government has paid special attention to developing the city of Hyderabad on an international level. The government has decided to undertake 27 works for 4305 crore rupees for the creation of infrastructure and a complete solution to the traffic problem in the city through the Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure (H City). In these works, road width, flyovers, ROBs, and RUB constructions will be undertaken, and signal signal-free transport system will be improved for the people of the city. Earlier, the works proposed in the second phase of SRDP will be implemented by H City. Out of the 42 works undertaken in the first phase of SRDP, 35 works have been made available and the remaining 7 flyover works will also be completed and made available. I am informed that the state government has allocated a budget for this purpose.

Construction Waste (C & D Waste): GHMC has set up 500 metric ton capacity plants in all four sides of the city to recycle such waste so that construction waste does not cause problems to people in Greater Greater India. Out of the 3.72 lakh metric tonnes of C & D waste collected in the city so far, 1,68,718 metric tonnes have been processed.

Entomology: We are taking proactive measures to prevent seasonal diseases during the rainy season. Awareness programs have been undertaken to prevent diseases like malaria, chicken pox, and dengue which are transmitted by mosquitoes. Free medical camps were organized from August 5 to 15 in 465 colonies in 108 wards in dengue-affected areas to provide treatment to those with symptoms. Around 50 dengue-affected houses are being sprayed to prevent mosquitoes.

As part of the cleanliness-greening program, anti-larvae operations were carried out in over 3 lakh houses, along with 1830 colonies, and fogging measures were taken in 25 ponds.

Urban Biodiversity: 38 Theme Parks, 19 Major Parks, and 777 Colony Parks are being managed by the Colony Welfare Association innovatively by establishing 1049 parks in the city to provide a pleasant environment to the city dwellers. The aim is to plant 50 lakh saplings in the city through this year’s Vana Mahotsavam, but so far we have planted 13 lakh saplings. 2 lakh 75 thousand 311 flower plants and other plants have been distributed free of charge as part of cleanliness and greening programme. 66,613 saplings were planted in this program. 4,643 saplings were planted in the central median. Besides, we have done avenue plantation for 68.86 kilometers.

GIS Mapping: GHMC has undertaken an integrated GIS survey to improve urban planning and resource management. In this survey, a drone flying survey upto 158 square meters was completed. A digitized survey of 1,14,020 houses measuring up to 125 square meters has been completed. A field survey was started in Hyder Guda, Miyapur, Chandanagar, KP Heb Colony, Uppal, and Hayat Nagar circles. After completion of this survey field survey will be conducted in Madapur, Serilingampally, Alvin Colony, Vivekanandanagar, Gajula Ramaram, Subhash Nagar, Nagol, RC Puram circle. Accurate house details and minimum facilities provided with a GIS survey are useful for knowing the details required to provide more infrastructure. Moreover, emergency services are available quickly. After the completion of geo-tagging of all properties through a GIS survey, a separate digital address board will be set up for all buildings. With this, various types of urgent services are available to the public/employer quickly.

Development of ponds: Special attention has been given to ponds throughout the city instead of alienation. As part of that, the FTL of 185 ponds was identified and surveyed. In many colonies below the pond, we have strengthened the dam construction without flooding, along with strengthening the dam construction to prevent flooding in the low-lying areas, sewage diversion works to prevent dirty water from entering the ponds, and fencing works have been undertaken. As a part of that, 370 works have been undertaken with an estimated cost of 234.17 crore rupees and so far 220 works have been completed. The remaining works are at various stages of development.

Face Recognizing Scanning: The FRC (Face Recognizing Scanning) app has been implemented in place of the fingerprint attendance system since April this year to accurately record the attendance of sanitation workers. With this, attendance registration irregularities have been checked.
