Hyderabad, May 25 (Maxim News): The Air Intelligence Unit of Hyderabad customs foiled an attempt to smuggle gold into the country by a passenger at RGI airport and seized 685 grams of gold. today. .
The passenger who arrived from Muscat was found carrying gold paste which was concealed in his rectum. The passenger belongs to Madhya Pradesh. The gold is valued at Rs. 42.78 lakh. further investigation is going on.
Yesterday, customs officials also seized a large amount of gold at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Shamshabad.
The customs officials checked the passenger who came from Dubai to Hyderabad with proper information. Officials found the gold hidden in the emergency light during inspections.
Customs officials revealed that 2.915 kg of gold worth around Rs. 1.82 crore was seized from the passenger. Customs officials said that the accused has been identified as a native from YSR district in Andhra Pradesh. (Maxim News)
