Tomato Rates Came Down Heavily: One Kg At A Price Of Rs 25 Only

Hyderabad, Aug 12 (Maxim News): Tomato prices are coming down, a kilo of tomato, which touched Rs. 300 in some parts of the country and Rs. 200 in Telugu states (Telangana and Andhra Pradesh) is now available for around thirty.  The talk of the market is that there is a possibility of further reduction in the next few days.

Traders say that the price has come down due to the heavy arrival of tomatoes from Anantapur.  Chittoor and Karnataka in Rayalaseema.

A lot of tomatoes are also coming from Ranga Reddy, Vikarabad, and Medak districts around Hyderabad.  Recently, tomato prices have come down heavily in the Mandanapally market in Andhra Pradesh.  The price fell further as nearly 400 tonnes of tomatoes hit the market on Friday.  The first variety of tomatoes fetched Rs. 30 to Rs. 40 per kg.  The second type of tomato fetched Rs. 21 to Rs. 28 per kg.  (Maxim News)
