Hyderabad Stands Firm: SIO’s Nationwide Protest Echoes Solidarity with Palestine

Hyderabad, October 14, 2023: The Students Islamic Organisation of India (SIO) orchestrated a series of profound solidarity gatherings across the nation and particularly 12 key locations within the Hyderabad city, including the iconic landmarks of Charminar, Qutub Shahi Tombs, and Mecca Masjid. This collective demonstration, organized under the umbrella of the nationwide initiative “IndiaWithPalestine” by SIO, exemplified an unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause.

Expressing unequivocal condemnation of the persistent violation of international laws and the tragic loss of lives, the gatherings held by SIO underscored the urgent imperative for global intervention and accountability to address the distressing circumstances faced by the Palestinian community.

During these gatherings, SIO emphasized three pivotal demands: firstly, the implementation of practical measures to mitigate the ongoing conflict in Palestine; secondly, a plea for steadfast support from the Indian government for the Palestinian cause; and finally, a call for global solidarity to recognize and endorse the legitimate resistance of the Palestinian people, said Hafiz Hammaduddin (Secretary, SIO Hyderabad)

The historic resonance of locations such as Charminar, Qutub Shahi Tombs and Mecca Masjid encapsulates the enduring spirit of solidarity embedded within the youth of Hyderabad, dedicated to upholding principles of justice and peace,” asserted a spokesperson for the organization.

As Hyderabad stands in unison with Palestine, SIO earnestly urges the global community to join forces in advocating for the realization of justice and sustainable peace in the region. Similar demonstrations have echoed across various parts of the nation, underscoring the widespread call for action and support for the Palestinian struggle.
