Hyderabad Auto Driver | Hyderabad, Oct 14 (Maxim News): Hyderabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar has expressed anger over a video showing an auto rickshaw driver allegedly watching a movie on a mobile phone while driving, wearing illuminated headphones and using another phone for navigation.
Reacting to the video on X, Sajjanar warned that such behaviour could endanger the lives of passengers and other road users.
According to the information shared by Sajjanar, a netizen recorded the incident and sent the video to him.
The footage reportedly showed two mobile phones mounted at the front of the auto. One phone displayed navigation directions, while the other was playing a movie. The driver was also seen wearing large headphones with coloured lights.

Sajjanar said that although the scene might resemble a multi-screen gaming setup, it posed a serious risk to passengers seated inside the vehicle.
He stressed that drivers must keep their attention on the road and avoid activities that distract them while operating a vehicle.

The police commissioner said that even a momentary diversion of attention from the road could lead to a serious accident. Watching a movie while driving and wearing headphones, he said, amounted to dangerous and irresponsible behaviour that could put lives at risk.
Sajjanar stated that such conduct could attract action under the Motor Vehicles Act, including heavy fines and possible cancellation of the driver’s licence, depending on the applicable provisions and circumstances.
He urged auto drivers not to turn their vehicles into entertainment spaces at the expense of passenger safety.

He also appealed to passengers not to remain silent if they notice a driver engaging in dangerous activities while driving.
Passengers were advised to question drivers who engage in such behaviour and ask them to stop. If the driver refuses to comply, they should immediately call the emergency number 112 and inform the police.
Sajjanar emphasised that responsible driving and alertness on the road are essential to preventing accidents and protecting the lives of passengers and other road users. (Maxim News)
