Hyderabad Police Arrest Accused in Brutal Murder Case

Hyderabad, November 8, 2023: The IS Sadan Police Station, Santoshnagar Division, South East Zone of Hyderabad Police have arrested an accused person who brutally murdered his wife by cutting her throat with a knife.

The incident occurred on October 28, 2023, at the couple’s residence in Champapet, Hyderabad.

The arrested person has been identified as Katravath Prem Kumar, a 23-year-old tea stall owner.

According to the police, the victim, Vadthya Swapna, had been having continuous disputes with her husband over her alleged extramarital affair with a person named Suresh.

On October 28, 2023, Prem Kumar purchased a knife from D-Mart and went to his rental house. Upon finding Suresh at their home, he became enraged and took his wife into their bedroom. He locked the door from inside and cut his wife’s throat with the knife, leading to her death on the spot.

The police have seized the murder weapon, a Hero Splendor motorcycle, and a Motorola Moto G32 mobile phone. The case is being investigated by Inspector S. Mallesh with the assistance of Sub-Inspector K. Ashok and other staff of IS Sadan Police Station, Hyderabad, claimed Rohit Raj, Dy. Commissioner of Police, South East Zone.
