Telangana mainly has two sources of drinking water and irrigation. They are Krishna and Godavari waters. Already discussed Krishna Water in the Legislative Assembly. We were able to explain the facts to the people of the state. And the second is Godavari waters. In the past, the rulers had decided to undertake the pranahita-Chevella project to make Telangana greener. This project was started keeping in mind the needs of the people. The tender process was undertaken in 2008 with an estimate of Rs. 38.500 crores.  Even when Telangana was formed as a separate state, works worth thousands of crores of rupees were done.

When the KCR/BRS government came to power, they invented the magic of project redesign. Changes were made in the project to be built at Tummidihatti and dams like Medigadda, Annaram, Sundilla etc. were built.  Finally, the Pranahita-Chevella project, which was started with an estimate of Rs. 38,500 crore, was increased to Rs. 1.47 lakh crore. it is likely to increase further in the future. How are expectations raised? How was the redesign done? What are the technical aspects of it? Where is the DPR given by the experts regarding the redesigning? The construction and maintenance that took place after that, are still left as questions.

The leaders in the previous government said that the Medigadda barrage collapsed due to the movement of sand.  Thousands of crores have been spent.  If this happens, the police have put a guard so that no one can go to the barrage.  I don’t think there will be that level of security at the Indo-Pak border either.  After receiving the complaints, the central government stepped in.  The National Dam Safety Authority has given a report detailing the status of the project. Finally, the report was also wronged by the previous government.

After the Congress government came to power, it was widely reported on TV and newspapers that some officials had destroyed files from their offices in the context of the situation at Medigadda.  We immediately ordered an inquiry into the irregularities at Medigadda and Annaram barrages. The vigilance committee gave a preliminary report. It mentioned many things including the decisions taken in the construction of the barrage and negligence in the maintenance.

Still, no one knows what happened at the barrage. Although there are some seniors. I don’t know if they are fully aware. That is why we have requested all the MLAs and MLCs to visit the barrage. if that happens then everyone will know the actual situation there. The Kaleshwaram project is very great. We are not saying that the Kaleshwaram project has become like an ATM for BRS leaders. People of Telangana should know the facts. That is our intention. We will release a white paper in two or three days after examining the actual conditions of the projects, explained Revanth Reddy. (Maxim News)
