Revanth Reddy met with the leaders of Gulf trade unions at Taj Deccan in Hyderabad.  On this occasion, the leaders brought various issues to his notice.  The Chief Minister said that 15 lakh families in the state are dependent on Gulf employment. He said that special activities have been undertaken to help them.  It has been decided to set up the Telangana Gulf and overseas Workers Welfare Board.

“We will set up a special office in Praja Bhavan to help the gulf workers.  We will adopt a special system headed by senior IAS.  The wages and welfare of those who went for employment should also be taken care of.  We are studying the policies adopted by some countries and states.  The Philippines and Kerala have a good policy for overseas workers.  After studying everything, the Telangana government will also formulate a comprehensive policy.  We have already decided to provide financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh to the families of Gulf workers if they die, he said.  (Maxim News)
