Increase Vigilance: Do Inspection: Vikas Raj  

Hyderabad, May 11 (Maxim News): Chief Electoral Officer, Vikas Raj has directed the polling officers and police to be alert as the polling process has reached its final stage.  It has been suggested that the District election Officers, SPs, and Police Commissioners should carry out surprise inspections at night to avoid enticing the voters.  It is suggested to increase vigilance in slums where the distribution of money, liquor, drugs, and gifts is more likely.

As these are likely to be distributed in marriage halls and community halls, surveillance should be increased in those areas.  CEO Vikasraj held a video conference with returning officers and district election officers and reviewed the polling arrangements for 17 Lok Sabha seats and one Assembly constituency in the state where polling will be held on May 13.  He said that all the arrangements for polling are in the final stage.

The CEO suggested that flying squads and static survey lines teams should be on full alert at check posts at inter-district boundaries and inter-state borders.  The Collectors have been ordered to make plans in the presence of the SPs and Police Commissioners of the respective districts regarding the matters of peace and security in the polling centers under their jurisdiction.

Vikasraj suggested that social media should be monitored instead of spreading false information and news on social media.  ECIL engineers were ordered to be made available in advance to solve technical problems in EVMs on the day of polling.

Vikas Raj suggested that GPS should be set up for the vehicles that take EVMs and VVPATs to the strong rooms after polling.  when the EV
s are brought to the polling stations and when they are brought back to the strong rooms, they want to take a video and record it through CCTVs.  Candidates and representatives of political parties must be seen in all these cases.

CEO Vikas Raj  said that voting time has been extended by one hour in some assembly constituencies of the 17 Lok Sabha constituencies and Secunderabad Cantonment Assembly Constituency as decided by the Central Election Commission till 6 pm.  Voters have the opportunity to vote from 7 am to 6 pm.  He said that within the assembly constituencies of Sirpur, Asifabad, Chennur, Bellampally, Manchiryala, Manthani, Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Pinapaka, Illendu, Bhadrachalam, Kothagudem and Aswaraopeta Assembly constituencies, voting has been provided from 7 am to 4 pm.  The campaign will end at 6 pm on Saturday.  (Maxim News)
