Hyderabad, Sept. 30: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy congratulated Telangana archer Chikitha Taniparthi and her teammate Sahil Jadhav on winning gold at the 2026 Asian Games.
The Indian duo won the compound mixed team archery final against South Korea on Wednesday. They secured victory in a shoot-off after the final ended in a 157-157 tie.
Chikitha Wins Two Asian Games Gold Medals
Chikitha also won gold in the women’s compound team event earlier in the day. The Indian team defeated China 238-234 in the final.
With two gold medals in a single day, Chikitha added to her achievements at the Games. Her mixed team victory with Sahil also secured India a quota place in compound mixed team archery at the 2028 Los Angeles
Revanth Reddy praised Chikitha’s talent and perseverance. He said her achievement would become part of Telangana’s sporting history and inspire other athletes.
The Chief Minister also congratulated Sahil for his contribution to the mixed team victory.
India’s archers won the mixed team final after a closely contested match against South Korea’s Park Jung-yoon and Choi Yong-hee. The Indian pair prevailed 20-19 in the deciding shoot-off.
