Delhi/Hyderabad, July 23 (Maxim News): Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman created a record by presenting the Union Budget 2024-25 in the Lok Sabha. She became the person who introduced the Union budget seven consecutive times.

Only former Prime Minister Morarji Desai presented the budget 6 times in a row. Sitharaman has now broken that record. She also created a record as the finance minister who introduced the budget the most times.

Union Budget 2024-25

Sitharaman took charge as the Finance Minister in July 2019. Since then, she has presented the budget 6 times in a row with a full budget, interim, or vote-on-account budget for the 7th time.

Sitharaman has surpassed former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Arun Jaitley, P. Chidambaram, and Yashwant Sinha, who presented the budget five times in a row as finance ministers. Former Prime Minister Morarji Desai presented 5 annual budgets and one interim budget to the Lok Sabha between 1959 and 1964 when he was the finance minister. (Maxim News)
