Jaishankar informed political party leaders in Parliament House that India has communicated with the Bangladesh Army Chief to ensure the safety of over 10,000 Indian students in Bangladesh.

Congress leader Karti Chidambaram also conveyed the party’s support for the government’s stance on national security and national interest, though he was not present at the meeting.
