The Governor has granted sanction for prosecution against the Chief Minister. It is based on three petitions filed by TJ Abraham, one Pradeep and Snehamayi Krishna,” an official at the Raj Bhavan said.

Based on a petition filed by advocate-activist Ahraham, Gehlot issued a ‘show-cause notice‘ on July 26 directing the Chief Minister to submit his reply to the allegations against him within seven days as to why permission for prosecution should not be granted against him.

The Karnataka government had on August 1 “strongly advised” the Governor to withdraw his “show-cause notice” to the Chief Minister and alleged “gross misuse of the Constitutional Office” of the Governor.

Allegations Against Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah

It is stated that there are allegations against CM K. Siddaramaiah of illegally acquiring land in Mysore.  For the past month, this issue has been rocking the politics of Karnataka. A few days ago, social activist and lawyer TJ Abraham filed a petition with the Governor seeking permission to investigate CM Siddaramaiah in the case related to the land allotted to his wife BM Parvathi.

Recently, the Governor approved the inquiry against CM Siddaramaiah. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the Governor will reject the petition filed a few days ago seeking an inquiry against him. But the extraordinary decision of the Governor is currently causing a lot of trouble.
