Muslim Personal Law Board President And Asad Owaisi Met CM To Support Opposing New Waqf Bill

Hyderabad, Aug 25 (Maxim News): The President of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, and AIMIM President and Hyderabad MP, Asaduddin Owaisi met the Chief Minister Revant Reddy and gave the representation to oppose the controversial New Waqf Amendment Bill.

Asaduddin Owaisi said that the Muslim Personal Law Board decided to meet the Chief Ministers of the secular parties and explain to them the harmful effects of the Waqf Bill. We told Chief Minister Revanth Reddy that the bill would adversely affect religious freedom and Muslim personal laws, among other issues.

We spoke to them about how the bill abolishes the purpose of waqf and replaces waqf al-awlad, and the scope of including non-Muslim members on state waqf boards. (Maxim News)
