Sitakka Shock To See One Lakh Trees Uprooted In Medaram: Ordered Inquiry

Hyderabad, Sept 4 (Maxim News): Minister for Panchayat Raj, Rural Water Supply, Women and Child Welfare, Sitakka shocked to see that about one lakh trees were uprooted in 500 acres in Madaram,  she ordered an inquiry on the issue.

The Minister spoke to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forest and the District Forest Officer from the State Secretariat by telephone. Sitakka visited the area where the trees were felled two days ago.  The Minister was shocked to see upto one lakh trees uprooted. He expressed surprise at this level of forest destruction. 

Speaking on this occasion, Minister Sitakka said that upto one lakh trees were uprooted due to the tornado in the forests of Mulugu. She said that hundreds of acres have been damaged. An inquiry has been ordered into the felling of trees.

She said orders have been issued to assess the damage with the help of drone cameras.  She said there was no loss of life as there was a tornado in the forest.  She said that if this tornado had occurred in the villages, there would have been a lot of destruction. 

The Minister said that due to the kindness of Mother Sammakka Saralamma, the tornado did not come over the villages.  She said that she was able to come out safely to the people only with the blessings of the Mothers.

Union Ministers Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay want to take special measures against falling trees.  They want to conduct an investigation from the center and find out the reasons.  The central government wants to support it. Sitakka requested grant special funds to grow trees in the forest area.  (Maxim News)
