Tirupati Laddu Row: Tests For Laddus At Holy Shrines

Hyderabad, Sept 24 (Maxim News): Due to the use of adulterated ghee in the preparation of Tirumala Srivari Prasadam laddus, people are expressing doubt about buying laddu in the towns and cities where many famous shrines are lined up.

In this connection, the officials of the Food Safety and Drug Administration are conducting inspections in many parts of the country. Officials of the Food Safety and Drug Administration inspected the laddus in many sweet shops in the famous holy places of Uttar Pradesh, Mathura, and Vrindavanam on Tuesday. On this occasion, 43 laddu samples from 15 shops in the town were sent to the lab for testing.

Food Safety and Drug Administration Assistant Commissioner Dhirendra Pratap Singh said that ingredients such as laddus, kowa, burfee, milk cake, rasgulla, soan papdi, and others were sent to the lab in Lucknow. Tirumala is one of the most famous holy places in the world. In its report, the NDDB clarified that adulterated ghee was used in the preparation of prasadam laddu of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy, who was worshiped in Tirumala. Devotees of Tirumala Srivari are angry with this.

In such a situation, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu’s government took a crucial decision.  It has decided to investigate the entire matter with the SIT.  It takes steps in that direction. It is also known that Samprokshanam was conducted on Monday along with Shanti Yaga at Srivari Temple in Tirumala.  (Maxim News)
