Temporary Break For Musi Demolitions as Residents Refuse to Vacate Homes

Hyderabad, Oct 3 (Maxim News): As part of the Musi beautification project, there has been a break in the removal of encroachments in the catchment areas of Musi. In Shankar Nagar and Musa Nagar, the authorities stopped the demolitions as the locals did not vacate the houses. The revenue authorities have given a temporary break to these demolitions.

Officials identified 450 houses in Old Malakpet and Shankarnagar. So far 140 houses have been demolished and the victims have been shifted to double bedrooms in Chanchalguda.

The vacated houses have been demolished by the authorities till now. However, some victims have not been vacated despite being allotted double-bedroom houses. The victims are expressing their concern that double bedrooms have been allotted in the suburbs of Hyderabad. The authorities have given a break to the demolitions because not all the houses have been vacated. But it is known that the government is assisting Rs. 25 thousand along with a double bedroom to the victims.

As part of Operation Musi, the revenue officials started the work of demolishing houses in the Musi catchment area two days ago. Officials are demolishing the vacated houses, written RB-X. The houses were demolished amid heavy security without any disturbance.

It is known that the Telangana government has taken up the Musi beautification project to save Hyderabad from floods, restore the encroached catchment areas of the Musi river, and protect Musi from pollution. The government has launched the Musi beautification project. The authorities first surveyed the FTL area of the Musi River. It has been found that about 16 thousand residences are under FTL.

Poor and middle-class people live in it. With this, the government has decided to provide free double-bedroom houses to the poor living within the FTL area as part of the Musi beautification project. A G.O. has already been issued for that. However, the revenue officials have recently surveyed who should be given double bedrooms and have identified and written RB-X (Riverbed Extreme) on the houses. However, the officials who conducted the mark survey in many areas were blocked by the locals.  they turned on the authorities.  Due to this, there is a tense atmosphere in many areas, although the government has said that they will provide double-bedroom houses, many locals are worried.  

Residents in many areas blocked the officials who came to register the details of the houses and their owners in the Musi river bed.  Finally, the officials continued the survey under police bando bast (Maxim News)
