Heavy Rains: Crest Gates Of Srisailam Project Opened For 5th Time

Heavy Rains | Srisailam/Hyderabad, Oct 18 (Maxim News): Due to heavy rains, and the heavy flood water coming, on Friday the authorities of the Srisailam project raised a crest gate by 10 feet and released the water downstream.

The project is full of water and the surrounding areas of the project are a feast for the eyes with the water coming down as the gates are lifted. Those who want to enjoy the beauty of nature can go to the surrounding areas of Srisailam project.

The inflow has increased with the flood water coming to the Srisailam reservoir. At present inflow is 93,279 cusecs. The full water level of the project was 885 feet and now, it has reached 884.50 feet, the full-scale water storage capacity of the project is 215.8070 TMCs. Currently, the water storage is 212.9198 TMCs.

Power generation continues in both the right and left power stations of the Srisailam project. Officials are releasing 96,626 cusecs of water downstream through the gates. (Maxim News)
