The Deccan Rocks spread over Telangana, Andhra, Karnataka, and parts of Maharashtra are a priceless Natural Heritage that contributes to a balanced ecosystem in more ways than one. The granites of the Deccan have been dated by geologists to be approximately 2500 million years old, making them the second oldest rock formations of the world, a fact that should make every citizen take pride in safeguarding them. Besides being aesthetically unique, rocks greatly influence the soil, fauna & flora, and the water table and act as valuable wind barriers.
