Man Sentenced To Life Imprisonment For Child Sexual Abuse

Hyderabad, Oct 22 (Maxim News): In a horrifying incident that took place within the jurisdiction of Abdullapurmet Police Station, a man has been sentenced to life imprisonment for repeatedly sexually assaulting a minor girl, who was related to him.

The accused, Mohammad Khaja, aged 43, a lorry driver residing in Kawadipally (V), Abdullapurmet (M), Rangareddy district, was found guilty under the POCSO Act.

The case was registered under Cr.No 626/2023 and was thoroughly investigated by the Abdullapurmet police. The accused was charged under Sections 376(2)(f)(n), 506 IPC, and Sections 5(l) (n) & R/w Section 6 of the POCSO Act.

In the Special Fast Track Court for Women, Rangareddy district, LB Nagar, Judge Smt. Harish, on October 22, 2024, pronounced the accused guilty.

The additional public prosecutors, Komalatha and Naresh, argued the case on behalf of the prosecution.

The court sentenced the accused to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs. 30,000/-. Additionally, the court awarded a compensation of Rs. 12,00,000/- to the victim. (Maxim News)
