According to reports, as part of Phase 2 of the Devadula project, the construction of a pipeline was undertaken to move water from the Chalivagu project in the suburb of Lingampally to Dharmasagar. On Sunday, there was an electrical issue in the Devadula substation at the Chalivagu project and the gate wall started leaking due to high-pressure water flow from the motors. As a result, water gushed out with high intensity damaging the nearby agriculture fields.
Villagers who were caught in surprise, looking at the fountain emerging from the water pipeline informed the irrigation department officials. After receiving the information, the officials rushed to the spot and immediately stopped the motors and took up repair work. (Maxim News)
