Ayodhya Ram Mandir Tightens Security For Donation Collection

New Delhi, July 31: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has introduced enhanced security measures for the collection and counting of donations at the Ayodhya Ram Mandir, mandating comprehensive video surveillance throughout the process.

Ayodhya Ram Mandir Donations Under 360 Degree Surveillance

The Trust has directed that every stage of the donation handling process, from removing empty donation boxes to collecting, sealing, transporting and counting donations, be recorded using 360 degree cameras. The new security protocol came into effect on July 25.

To strengthen transparency, two professional videographers have been appointed for continuous recording, while an eight member monitoring team comprising bank officials, Trust representatives and private security personnel has been formed to oversee the process.

According to the Trust, the 40 donation boxes installed at the temple are not emptied simultaneously. Instead, they are opened and processed on a daily basis. Officials from the State Bank of India (SBI) seal the donation boxes after they are brought to the counting room.

The Trust said the enhanced surveillance measures were introduced following allegations of donation theft and an investigation by a Special Investigation Team (SIT). It stated that the new system is aimed at ensuring transparency, accountability and the secure handling of devotees’ contributions.
