Nirmala Sitharaman To Present Union Budget On Feb 1
The central government will present the union budget to Parliament next year. Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the economists and experts to receive opinions and suggestions regarding the budget. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget 2025-26 in Parliament on February 1.

In this meeting, Sitharaman, NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Berry, NITI Aayog CEO BVR Subramanian, Chief Economic Advisor Ananth Nageswara, Surjit Bhalla, DK Joshi, and other prominent economists attended the meeting.
The Reserve Bank of India estimated that the GDP would grow by 7 percent, but the GDP fell short of expectations. On the other hand, the Finance Minister held a pre-budget meeting with states and union territories on the 20th of this month. Finance Ministers of several states, including Punjab and Kerala have requested the Center to announce a package. They have asked the Center to increase the allocation of 50-year interest-free loans for long-term infrastructure and capital expenditure. (Maxim News)
