Traffic Violators Paid Fines Of Rs. 535 Cr In Telangana In 2024
Hyderabad, Jan 1 (Maxim News): As many as 1,57,65,552 cases of various kinds of violations of the provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act (MV Act) were reported in the State during the year (upto December 15), penalties to the tune of Rs. 535 crore was collected from the violators during the year.

However, this was slightly less than last year. Last year, 1,57,68,339 cases were reported and a fine of Rs. 540.91 crore was collected. As for cases registered in the capital along with Cyberabad and Rachakonda commissioners, two-thirds of the total cases in Telangana were within the jurisdiction of these three commissioners.
Traffic Police have registered 55,234 cases of drunk driving and collected a fine of Rs. 10.69 crore from offenders during the year in Hyderabad city alone.

On the other hand, Mulugu and Bhupalpally districts have reported the least number of cases. Violations like not wearing a helmet, traveling at high speed, signal jumping, and talking on cell phones while driving were being recorded in the CCTV cameras on the roads and intersections. (Maxim News)
