These include advanced heating systems to prevent water freezing in the tanks, and features that keep the air-brake system working efficiently in cold weather. The train also has embedded heating elements in its windshield to automatically defrost the driver’s view, ensuring clear visibility even during harsh winter conditions.

In addition to these winter-specific upgrades, the train also includes fully air-conditioned coaches, automatic plug doors, and mobile charging sockets to ensure passengers enjoy a comfortable journey.

Key Milestones in the Project

The trial run of this train is part of the broader Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, which has completed 272 kilometers of track. The commissioner of railway safety has given the green signal for the train to run on the Katra-Baramulla section, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi expected to officially launch the service soon. Successful Projects

In recent weeks, Indian Railways has successfully conducted six trial runs along important sections of the route, including landmarks like the Anji Khad cable-stayed bridge and the Chenab River arch bridge. The Anji Khad bridge is one of the highest railway bridges in the world, standing at 331 meters above the river bed. Meanwhile, the Chenab bridge, located in Kauri, holds the title of the world’s highest railway bridge, towering at 359 meters.

The Vande Bharat Express is expected to significantly improve transportation in Kashmir, helping to bridge economic and social gaps. With its innovative design, it represents a proud step forward for Indian Railways and the people of Kashmir. As the project progresses, the improved rail network will enhance both local and national connectivity, benefiting the region’s development.
