Legality Of Caste Census: Our Goal Is To Give BCs A Proper Place: Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad, Feb 4 (Maxim News): Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said that there are 56 percent BCs in Telangana. Their goal is to provide them with a suitable place. CM Revanth Reddy introduced the caste census and SC classification report in the Assembly.

Speaking on this occasion, he said that the caste census was conducted for the upliftment of the backward classes. He said that the cabinet has decided to conduct the caste census in February 2024.

As promised, they have conducted a caste census across the state and shown it. He said that the survey was not done haphazardly. He said that the survey was conducted after studying the surveys in Karnataka and Bihar.

CM Revanth Reddy said that he had taken the advice of some intellectuals on the survey. He said that 96.9 percent of the people in the state participated in the survey. He said that 1.12 crore families participated in the survey.

The survey was completed in 56 days. It took 36 days for data entry. We conducted the survey on the basis of 75 factors. Telangana has a population of 3.54 crore.

The total BCs in the state are 56.33 percent. BCs are 46.03 percent. Muslim bCs are 10.03 percent. Total OCs are 15.79 percent, of which Muslim OCs are 2.8 percent. SCs are 17.43 percent, STs are 10.45. We conducted the caste census after 2011.

A survey was conducted in every village in the 10 districts. The survey was conducted without any mistakes. We stickered 150 houses as a cluster and conducted the survey.

We trained the staff at the field level for the survey. We have set an example for the country with the caste census survey. We will provide a suitable place to the BCs who constitute 56 percent. These figures will be useful for the advancement of BCs.

The caste census survey is like an X-ray for society. The weaker sections are to counted in this country. Caste census figures should be taken in the census, said Revanth (Maxim News)
