  • Ponnam Prabhakar: Only Those Who Took Part in the Survey Can Talk About the Caste Census

Caste Census | Hyderabad / Karimnagar, Feb. 7: Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said he will explain the caste census to community leaders.

Speaking to the media in Karimnagar, he said that Rahul Gandhi is pushing for a caste census across India. He questioned whether people should stay silent while backward classes face injustice.

He criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders, saying they refuse to take part in the survey and only make fun of it. “Only those who participated in the survey have the right to speak about the caste census,” he said.

“Our party is ready to give 42% of seats to backward classes. BJP leaders should apologize to them. There is nothing wrong with the caste census. If you find any mistakes, tell me. This survey will help in making better policies and programs,” he added.

He also mentioned that people have been asking for a caste census since India gained independence, and his government has finally completed it. He pointed out that people willingly provided their information for the survey.

He accused the BJP of being against the caste census, saying that the party even gave an affidavit at the Center stating it will not conduct one. “BJP is a party that supports feudalism,” Ponnam Prabhakar said.
