Hyderabad, Feb 12 (Maxim News): Mee Seva centers across Hyderabad are packed with people applying for new ration cards. The heavy rush has led to long queues, and at some centers, officials have even closed the gates to control the crowd. To manage the situation, only ten people are being allowed inside at a time.
People are struggling with long waiting times. Many applicants say that after collecting the application form, they are made to wait for nearly four hours before they are finally called inside to submit their documents.
Officials have informed that to apply for a ration card, people must provide details of all household members. Along with the application form, they need to submit Xerox copies of Aadhaar cards for all family members, an electricity bill, and a gas bill. The application fee has been set at Rs. 50.
Many applicants are frustrated, saying they have been waiting for hours but still haven’t been allowed inside. Some city residents had already applied for ration cards earlier, but since their names were missing from the list, they are now reapplying at Mee Seva centers.
The huge crowd for ration card applications is also causing problems for people visiting Mee Seva for other services like Aadhaar card updates and birth certificates, leading to delays and inconvenience (Maxim News)
