Telangana Tunnel Collapse

To this end, rescue teams worked hard from Saturday evening to 3 am on Sunday. Officials said that mud had accumulated in the tunnel to a height of 2.5 meters, and it had become difficult to remove the soil due to the spring.  We entered the tunnel at 10 pm on Saturday to review the situation. After traveling 11 kilometers by locomotive, we walked for 2 kilometers.

After reaching the tunnel boring machine, we tried to contact the workers.  As the soil had settled for 200 meters, we did not get a response from the other side.  Even if we remove the debris, we will not know where the workers are stuck and how to save them.  Patches between 11-13 kilometers are filled with water.  it needs to be removed first.  Unless the water is completely removed, we cannot start the work of removing the debris, NDRF Deputy Commander Sukhendu explained.  (Maxim News)
