Hyderabad, Sept. 28 (Maxim News): Telangana Minorities Welfare Minister Mohammed Azharuddin has assured a delegation of minority representatives from Arutla village in Manchal mandal of Ranga Reddy district that necessary steps would be taken to address their local issues, subject to government guidelines, prescribed norms and availability of resources.
The Minister met the delegation at his chambers in Hyderabad on Monday.
The representatives apprised him of several issues concerning the minority community in Arutla and sought his intervention for their early resolution.
The delegation requested the Minister to consider sanctioning ₹5 lakh for purchasing land for a Muslim graveyard.
It also sought construction of a Muslim Shadi Khana in the village and action on other infrastructure and community-related issues.
Responding to the representations, Azharuddin assured the delegation that he would take up the issues with the concerned authorities. He said efforts would be made to find appropriate solutions in accordance with government rules, prescribed procedures and available resources.
Azharuddin Stresses Education and Youth Development
The Minister also stressed the importance of education and skill development, particularly among the youth.
He advised the representatives to encourage students and young people in the area to give greater priority to education.
Azharuddin said education plays a crucial role in the progress, development and prosperity of any community.
The delegation expressed gratitude to the Minister for giving a patient hearing to their concerns and assuring them that the issues would be taken up with the concerned authorities.
Earlier this month, Azharuddin had visited Arutla village and interacted with local residents to personally understand their concerns and assess the issues prevailing in the area.
Following the visit, he directed the concerned departmental officials to initiate necessary steps towards resolving the issues.
The delegation informed the Minister that work on some of the issues had already been initiated following his earlier visit and directions.
The representatives also said the Minister’s visit had encouraged local residents, particularly the youth, and motivated them to actively participate in efforts aimed at addressing the needs and development of their community.
The latest assurances come after the Minority Welfare Department had already taken up a separate representation concerning long-pending requests in Arutla.
An official memorandum forwarded the representation of the Masjid-e-Madina Arutla Committee to the Ranga Reddy District Collector for examination and a detailed report to the government.
The representation included a request for a compound wall around the Muslim graveyard and conversion of an unused government building into a Muslim community mini-function hall.
The department’s action had moved the requests into the district-level administrative process, while the latest delegation meeting focused on the broader local concerns and the additional requests for graveyard land and a Shadi Khana. (Maxim News)
