Fire Accident At Ghansi Bazaar, Charminar: No Casualties
Hyderabad, Mar 8 (Maxim News): A major fire broke out in the storeroom of a textile showroom located in a multi-storey building at Ghansi Bazaar near Madina Market in Old City on Friday night. No casualties were reported, police said.
Officials suspect a short circuit could have caused the fire. Residents noticed fire and thick smoke from the top floor of the building, which is surrounded by commercial complexes, and alerted the Fire Department and police.
Three fire engines were rushed to the spot and doused the fire within two hours. “The store room was full of cotton, fiber, and cloth material due to which thick smoke engulfed the surrounding areas, triggering panic among the residents,” said Charminar Inspector K. Chandra Shekar.
The people present in the building and adjacent buildings rushed to safety. Officials said the cost of the property damage was yet to be estimated. The Charminar Police are investigating. (Maxim News)
