Nine Young Footballers from Hyderabad to Represent India at LALIGA Youth Tournament in Malaysia
Hyderabad, July 10, 2025: In a remarkable achievement for Hyderabad’s sports scene, nine young footballers from the city have been selected to represent India at the prestigious LALIGA Youth Football Tournament 2025 (U-16), scheduled to take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The tournament, endorsed by LALIGA—the top-tier Spanish football league—will host youth teams from 10 countries, including Spain, Japan, China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Korea. The Indian team will compete under the Grasshopper’s Sports banner in the league-cum-knockout format event.

- Amash Yousuf Subhani
- Mohammed Abaan Hussain
- Mohammed Agha Taha Qureshi
- Mohammed Mahaboob Khan
- Aiman Subhani
- Armaan Hussain

- Fahad Mohammed Khan
Joining them are players from Rajasthan (3), Maharashtra (2), and the North East (4). The squad is scheduled to depart from Hyderabad tonight and return on July 15.
According to Coach and Team Manager Agha Muzaffaruddin, the team will face strong competition, with initial matches against Spain, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. These young talents were selected through a high-intensity qualifying tournament held in Hyderabad, which saw participation from over 300 U-16 players across 16 teams.

Launched in 2021, the LALIGA Youth Tournament has quickly gained reputation as one of Asia’s premier youth football platforms. With Spain fresh off winning Euro 2024 and the Olympic gold in men’s football, the tournament offers players a unique opportunity to showcase their talent on a global stage.
