GHMC Reviews Arrangements For Ganesh Utsav 2026

Hyderabad, August 31 (Maxim News): GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan and Additional Commissioner B. Santosh chaired a coordination and review meeting with representatives of the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi (BGUS) at the GHMC Head Office Complex on Tank Bund Road on Monday.

The meeting focused on ensuring smooth, peaceful and incident-free conduct of Ganesh Utsav 2026 and coordinating arrangements among the GHMC, Hyderabad City Police, HYDRAA and other departments.

All Additional Commissioners and Zonal Commissioners of GHMC, along with Hyderabad City Police representatives and senior officials from various line departments, attended the meeting.

Focus on sanitation, roads and immersion arrangements

Commissioner R.V. Karnan directed officials to complete all preparations well in advance. Special emphasis was placed on sanitation, road repairs, barricading, street lighting, parking arrangements and crane positioning at immersion points.
Officials also reviewed the finalized Ganesh procession route from Balapur to Tank Bund and the deployment of Ganesh Action Teams along the route.
Additional manpower and machinery will be deployed to manage sanitation requirements during the festivities. GHMC will also arrange mobile toilets and drinking water facilities at major immersion points.
The Commissioner directed officials to complete pending works, including tree pruning, road repairs and street lighting, on a priority basis.

Control room for inter-departmental coordination

GHMC, Hyderabad City Police, HYDRAA and other line departments will maintain close coordination through the control room to monitor arrangements and address issues during the celebrations.
The GHMC Commissioner assured representatives of the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi that the civic body would extend full support and coordinate with all concerned departments for the successful conduct of the festival.

Appeal for eco-friendly Ganesh idols

The GHMC also appealed to citizens and devotees to cooperate with the authorities and follow the prescribed arrangements during the festival.
Commissioner R.V. Karnan urged people to prefer eco-friendly, clay-based Ganesh idols to help protect Hyderabad’s water bodies and the environment during immersion.
Representatives of the Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi, including Karodimal Narsing Puriya and Secretary Shashidhar, along with presidents, secretaries and office-bearers from various Assembly Constituencies within the GHMC limits, participated in the meeting. (Maxim News)
