Vijayanagaram/Hyderabad, July 18 (Maxim News): Senior leader of AP TDP and former Union Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju has resigned from the party. It appears he stepped down following his appointment as the Governor of Goa. He has written a resignation letter to the party’s state president Palla Srinivasa Rao.
In the letter, he stated that he is resigning from the party’s primary membership as well as the Politburo post. He expressed emotion, saying he was lucky to have had the opportunity to work for the party all these years and thanked them for entrusting him with the responsibility of Governor of Goa.
Ashok Gajapathi Raju has been with the TDP since its inception. He has won as an MLA seven times and as an MP once. He also served as a minister when the TDP was in power. After winning as an MP in 2014, he served as the Union Minister for Civil Aviation. In the last election, he did not contest but fielded his daughter. Currently, he is staying away from direct politics. However, in recognition of his service to the party, the TDP has given him the opportunity to become governor. The TDP is a key player in the NDA government at the center, and the post of governor was proposed and approved by the Center. (Maxim News)
