HC Quashes Case Registered Against CM Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad, Aug 11 (Maxim News): The Telangana High Court has quashed the case registered against Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. A case was registered against Revanth Reddy in Garidepally PS of Suryapet district in October 2019. The CM had filed a petition to quash the case registered for violating the election code. Justice K. Lakshman, who took up the matter, issued an order quashing the case.

The Supreme Court has reprimanded petitioner Peddiraju for filing an SC and ST atrocity case against Revanth Reddy. The bench of CJI justice BR. Gavai has ordered him to apologise in the form of an affidavit to High Court Judge Justice Mausami Bhattacharya. The case filed by Peddiraju against Revanth Reddy was earlier dismissed by the Telangana High Court. Peddiraju filed a transfer petition in the Supreme Court to transfer the case to the Nagpur bench. In it, he made objectionable comments against the High Court judge. The CJI bench expressed its anger at the AOR and peddiraju who drafted the petition.

It said that the High Court judge Justice Mousami Bhattacharya should apologize. The decision on the affidavit to be filed expressing apology was left to Justice Mousami Bhattacharya. Peddiraju was directed to file an affidavit within a week. The Supreme Court adjourned the further hearing for four weeks.  (Maxim News)
