Heavy Flooding In Srisailam And Nagarjuna Sagar Project
Hyderabad, Aug 17 (Maxim News): Flooding continues at Krishna Projects. The flood is increasing due to rains in the river basin areas as well as in the upper azores. As the Srisailam reservoir is facing heavy flooding, the authorities lifted three gates and released weather downstream.
Currently, 79,269 cusecs of flood water is flowing from the Srisailam reservoir towards Nagarjuna Sagar. The project is receiving 1,18,410 cusecs of flood from Jurala and Sunkeshula. The full water level of the dam is 885 feet. Currently, there is 881.4 feet of water. The full water storage capacity is 215.8 TMC. Currently, 195.6 TMC of water is stored.
Power generation is continuing in Srisailam, right and left banks, 65,807 cusecs of flood is flowing through the two hydroelectric power stations.
Meanwhile, flood is also reaching Nagarjuna Sagar in nalgonda district. With this, the authorities are releasing water by lifting 22 gates by 5 feet. Currently, the inflow to Nagarjunasagar is 1,71,683 cusecs. The outflow is 2,12,753 cusecs. The full water level of Sagar is 590 feet. The current water level of Sagar is 587 feet. The full water storage capacity is 312.04 TMC. Currently 305.50 TMC of water is stored. (Maxim News)
