Telangana Urdu Academy Honours 173 Urdu Teachers for Excellence

Telangana Urdu Academy | Hyderabad, Aug 19 (Maxim News) In a grand ceremony celebrating the invaluable contributions of educators, the Telangana Urdu Academy honored 173 Urdu teachers with the prestigious Best Urdu Teacher Awards here on Tuesday.

The event, held at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in King Koti, Hyderabad, recognized teachers for their exceptional service to the promotion and preservation of the Urdu language.

The awards ceremony, which celebrated recipients from both 2022 and 2023, saw the presence of several dignitaries.

The Minister for Scheduled Castes Development, Tribal and Minority Welfare, Adluri Laxman Kumar, presided as the chief guest.

He was welcomed by Tahir Bin Hamdan, President of the Telangana Urdu Academy; B. Shafiullah, Secretary & Commissioner of Minority Welfare; Syed Azmatullah Husaini, Chairman, TG Wakf Board; Mohd Obaidullah Kotwal, Chairman, State Minority Finance Corporation; Sajjad Ali, Director & Secretary of the Urdu Academy; and senior journalist M. A. Majid.

The awards were given to teachers who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to fostering the growth and development of Urdu in schools across the state.

For the year 2022, 73 teachers were selected from 130 nominations, while for 2023, 100 teachers were chosen from 198 nominations. Each of the 173 awardees received a prestigious award along with a cash prize of ₹25,000.

The honored teachers came from various districts, including Adilabad, Hanumakonda, Jagtial, Jangaon, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Kamareddy, Karimnagar, Mahbubnagar, Mancherial, Medak, Medchal, Nalgonda, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Rangareddy, Sangareddy, Siddipet, and Warangal.

In his address, Minister Laxman Kumar reaffirmed the Revanth Reddy government’s commitment to supporting minority welfare in various ways.

He highlighted efforts to appoint education volunteers in all 33 districts and pledged the government’s full support to minority communities.

He also mentioned that plans are being prepared to secure the future of minority students and improve the quality of education in minority schools. The minister extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the award recipients.

The event concluded with remarks from Tahir Bin Hamdan, President, Telangana Urdu Academy, and bytes from some of the award recipients, including Shakeela Begum (SGT, Medchal), Dr. Ameena Akhtar (Language Pandit, Hanumakonda), Dr. Azamatullah (Assistant Professor, MVS Govt. Arts & Science College, Mahbubnagar), Ajmal Pasha (Physical Science, ZPHS, Kamareddy), Shaheeda Begum (Mahbubnagar), and Chand Sultana (Hanumakonda). (Maxim News)
